Description: A player paid for 500 Moola through Steam and still saw the same in-game balance. EA has given that player a specific support route. Here's what the report actually tells us.

A completed Steam payment does not always mean the Moola appears immediately in the player's game balance, as one recent report shows. An EA community manager told the affected player to contact live support for an account and billing review. That is a practical next step, not a claim that every purchase is broken.

Paid for 500, still sitting on 90

On October 8, 2026, at 11:24 p.m. Malaysia time (UTC+8), one player bought 500 Moola for RM25 using their Steam Wallet. Their later post on EA's forums said the payment was completed, but their in-game balance remained at 90 Moola despite repeated checks. Buying decorative content is meant to be the fun part. Having to hunt for the currency first? Rather less fun.

Moola is the currency used for items in The Sims 4 Marketplace. In guidance updated October 5, EA says Moola can be used across the same PC platform family—EA app, Steam, and Epic Games—while balances do not travel between separate families such as PlayStation and Xbox. So an unexplained Steam purchase is not automatically explained away as a normal Steam-versus-EA app divide.

EA's reply gives players a concrete route

An EA community manager replied to the forum post: if the currency still had not arrived, the player should contact EA Help live support so the team could inspect the account and billing information. The thread does not establish why those 500 Moola were missing or that the case has already been resolved.

If this happens to you, record the Steam transaction, purchase time, amount, and the balance shown in-game before buying another bundle. Give the order details privately to official support, not to strangers in a public thread. This is a single documented complaint, not evidence of a widespread payment failure.

The next meaningful update isn't another rumor about Marketplace. It's whether support can reconcile the payment with the missing balance—and whether the player gets the Moola they paid for.
