0. Bottom line
The plan was simple: build Set 9 Aggro Nightmare and queue ranked. Instead, the first boss was inventory control.
The GameWith list captured at 17:59 JST on August 27, 2026 used three Garodeth vs. Zeth, two Suzy, and three Hark to the Night Song. The collection was missing two Garodeths, two Suzys, and one Night Song: five cards.
Crafting all five costs 9,250 Red Ether: 750 for Night Song, 1,500 for two Suzys, and 7,000 for two Garodeths.
Cheap replacements created their own problems. Reverent Demon was useful but could not simply be increased to any desired count because of the Welcome Card ownership situation. Highwire Feline was reasonable, but there was not enough Ether for that either.
So the card game became procurement and production control before the match even started.
The emergency five were Reverent Demon x2, Lulumi x1, Ghost Dodger x1, and Gran & Djeeta x1. Then the unfinished deck entered a real match and ran the opponent over anyway.
One game is not a statistic, but the factory clearly works before every premium machine is installed.
1. What the missing cards did
The missing package was Garodeth x2, Suzy x2, and Night Song x1.
Garodeth is the main finisher: an 8-cost 8/8 whose cost drops by one at the end of your turn while your leader is at 12 health or less. One mode gains Storm; the defensive mode gains Ward and deals 8 to every enemy follower.
Suzy is a 4-cost 3/3 that weakens one enemy follower and, on evolve, gives a follower in hand +3 attack. She is the damage-processing machine for future Storm turns.
Night Song costs 3, distributes 6 damage over enemy followers, and with Necromancy 6 also deals 2 to the enemy leader.
These were not five filler cards. They were two shipping machines, two damage amplifiers, and one fire-control system.
2. Why not craft the legendary first?
Normal crafting costs are Bronze 50, Silver 90, Gold 750, and Legendary 3,500.
Two Garodeths cost 7,000 by themselves, roughly 76% of the 9,250-Ether repair bill. Garodeth is also a Set 9 card, so while Set 9 packs are still being opened, a natural pull can save 3,500.
If the temporary deck is already winning, repairing the three missing Gold cards for 2,250 total gives better short-term efficiency than immediately spending 3,500 on one legendary.
3. The emergency five-card patch
The temporary package was:
- Reverent Demon x2
- Lulumi x1
- Ghost Dodger x1
- Gran & Djeeta x1
Reverent Demon draws on Last Words and damages your own leader by 1, helping both hand flow and Garodeth's 12-health threshold.
Lulumi is a 2-cost 2/1 with Rush and Last Words that adds a Bat. It is Bronze and costs 50 Ether, so a balance of 70 leaves 20 after crafting. The card did not cost 70; 70 was simply the available balance.
Ghost Dodger uses Rush to clear a blocker and leaves a Ghost after death. Gran & Djeeta is not ideal pure aggro, but the choice between 5 follower damage and drawing two followers is useful insurance in an incomplete deck.
4. What about Ceres and the other owned cards?
Ceres is strong, but her 5-cost body, healing, and late-game value are less aligned with the current goal of ending the game quickly. She becomes more attractive if the ladder is full of other aggressive decks.
Beast Wandering the Dark can high-roll useful keywords, but turning the finisher into an RNG lottery is not ideal. Selfless Warden fits other structures better. Reaper's Repulse is more combo-oriented. Lyria can fit certain lists. Fatal Taker costs 9; if aggro reaches turn nine regularly, the postmortem meeting has already begun.
5. Then the opponent died
The budget list won a real game.
That does not mean “100% win rate.” N=1 is not a meta report.
What matters is that the deck's skeleton survived: cheap development, face pressure, useful self-damage, midgame direct damage, and remaining Storm finishers still connected into a coherent plan.
The factory was unfinished, but the conveyor belt moved.
6. Upgrade order as Red Ether arrives
750: craft the missing Night Song; remove Gran & Djeeta.
Next 750: craft the first Suzy; remove Ghost Dodger.
Next 750: craft the second Suzy; remove Lulumi.
At 2,250 total, all missing Gold cards are restored.
Then 3,500: craft Garodeth #2; remove one Reverent Demon.
Then another 3,500: craft Garodeth #3; remove the last Reverent Demon.
Total repair cost: 9,250. Every Garodeth opened naturally from Set 9 packs saves 3,500.
7. Why Reverent Demon leaves last
With only one Garodeth, the chance of drawing the finisher is lower. Reverent Demon draws a card when it dies and also deals 1 damage to your leader, helping reach Garodeth's activation threshold.
It is the temporary worker who both searches for the boss and switches on the boss's machine. Once the actual Garodeth copies return, the contractor can leave.
8. How to play the budget version
- Mulligan for one- and two-cost plays.
- If ignoring the enemy board does not kill you next turn, default toward face damage.
- Use Rush to remove Ward or truly dangerous snowball units.
- Once your health is 12 or less, check Garodeth's current cost every turn.
- The budget version has less premium late-game burst, so today's 2 damage matters more than a beautiful plan three turns later.
Cheap does not mean defensive. Cheap means finish earlier.
9. The 81% simulation is a different deck
A separate Set 9 launch simulation selected another public Aggro Nightmare list, public-5-146753, and it averaged 81.0% inside the simulator's supported final matrix.
That was not the same 40-card GameWith 17:59 list, and this budget replacement list was not rerun through that matrix.
Therefore 81% is not the win rate of this budget deck. The valid conclusion is only that Aggro Nightmare looked very strong inside the supported field and this emergency list was at least functional in real play.
Humor can be inflated. Numbers cannot.
10. Final conclusion
The intended workflow was build deck → play.
The actual workflow was missing five cards → discover a 9,250-Ether deficit → search for cheap parts → hit the Welcome Card wall → audit the collection → hire Lulumi for 50 → finally play → opponent dies.
There is apparently a procurement simulator installed before the card game.
The practical answer is: keep the working budget build, restore Night Song → Suzy → Suzy at each 750-Ether milestone, then craft the two missing Garodeths last.
The factory does not need to be complete before it starts shipping damage.
