Developer-confirmed thresholds for escaping on Day 5, becoming trapped, and unlocking Controlled Decay.

Good requires 0–2 chains, Sanity ≥40%, and Toxicity ≤60% together on Day 5. Secret requires 3–4 chains and C-12 synthesized in the kitchen. Bad triggers at five chains, zero Sanity, or 100% Toxicity.

Ending Requirement Actions and outcome Source, version, spoiler
Good: Sever the Cord Day 5: 0–2 chains AND Sanity ≥40% AND Toxicity ≤60% Avoid unnecessary blood and food sacrifices; climb the emergency ladder, escape and seal the hatch Official developer guide; page updated 2026-10-05; build unknown; SPOILERS
Bad: Full Bound / Permanent Prey 5 chains OR Sanity 0% OR Toxicity 100% Repeatedly yield to Hana until any failure condition is reached Official developer guide; page updated 2026-10-05; build unknown; SPOILERS
Secret: Controlled Decay 3–4 chains AND C-12 synthesized in the kitchen Search the kitchen by day, find research notes, prepare C-12 and inject Hana on Day 5 Official developer guide; page updated 2026-10-05; build unknown; SPOILERS

Read the meters together

Jito is trapped in a bunker with his infected partner Hana. Chains track abandoned personal boundaries: five mean complete entrapment. Sanity measures Jito’s mental resilience, Toxicity measures Hana’s danger, and Supplies are survival rations. Two chains will not secure Good if Sanity is 39% or Toxicity is 61%.

Good versus Secret: opposite chain targets

For Good, avoid surrendering extra blood or essential rations to calm Hana. Protect both meters, then take the emergency ladder on Day 5. For Secret, deliberately keep three or four chains, explore the kitchen during daytime phases, locate research notes, synthesize the C-12 enzyme solvent and inject it into Hana’s neck on Day 5. Reducing chains to zero is not the secret-route strategy.

Bad triggers and the missing recipe

Any one bad threshold is enough; Sanity can reach zero before the fifth chain. A jam player comment reports that cleaning Hana’s lesions lowers Toxicity at a cost to Jito’s Sanity. That is an observation, not a verified numerical exchange rate. The developer has not supplied an exact dialogue-by-dialogue score sheet, C-12 ingredient list or button sequence.

The Godot HTML5 game launched October 4 and was updated October 5, 2026; no build number is shown. These are verified published conditions, not a claimed hands-on completion.

Conclusion

Bottom line: Good = 0–2 chains + Sanity ≥40% + Toxicity ≤60%; Secret = 3–4 chains + C-12; Bad = 5 chains OR zero Sanity OR maximum Toxicity. Decide which ending you want before choosing how much to yield.
