Description: Photoroom Free now lists 25 exports per week and 100 per month. Why older official pages say 50, 250 or unlimited, when limits reset, and what AI credits cover.
As checked on October 18, 2026, Photoroom’s current export-limit help page lists 25 exports per week and 100 per month for Free. An older Photoroom blog still advertises 250 free exports, but the newer July 16, 2026 limit table is the stronger source for current allowances. The monthly Free reset follows your account creation date and time, not a universal first-of-month reset.

What counts as an export?
An export means taking an image file out of Photoroom: downloading it, saving it to your camera roll, sharing it as a file or pushing an image update to Shopify. Each image counts once per export event. A Space shares its allowance across members. The export counter does not promise the same number of AI-generated images; generation has a separate credit meter.
Does 25 per week mean another 100 every month?
The official table has a Weekly column (25 for Free) and a Monthly column (100 for Free). Crucially, its separate Free reset instructions say free accounts renew monthly. It does not explicitly establish that both counters apply simultaneously to every free account. Treat 100 per month as the documented Free renewal allowance; treat 25 as the weekly-column figure, whose applicability to a particular Free Space needs confirmation in Usage. Do not infer a universal weekly reset time.
Is the weekly 25 a second limit on Free?
For a Free account, the monthly export reset is based on the day and time the account was created. An account created on the 31st normally renews on the last day of shorter months. Separately, Free Utilities such as Background Remover, AI Expand, Image Enhancer, preset AI Shadows, Resize and Retouch have lower daily usage limits in a free Space; those reset the next day. Photoroom does not publish an exact daily allowance or universal reset hour. A daily tool reset will not restore exhausted monthly exports.
Why official pages still say 50, 250 or unlimited
The official French help article dated July 1, 2025 describes 50 free exports with a reset on the first day of each month. A Photoroom comparison blog dated July 3, 2025 advertises 250 free exports and unlimited Pro downloads. By contrast, the dedicated July 16, 2026 help article lists 100 Free and 1,000 Pro exports monthly, matching the current Pro pricing card. Photoroom acknowledges that older versions used different export limits. The precise effective date of each transition is not established by these documents. For today’s limits, prioritize the newer dedicated limit page and your account counter over promotional copy.
AI credits, Spaces and commercial rights
Export allowances and AI credits are different resources. The current public pricing page displays Pro 8,000, Max 25,000 and Ultra 75,000 AI credits monthly; amounts may vary by plan and region. Annual billing does not turn the monthly credit allowance into a year-long pool, and unused AI credits do not carry over. App credits are not the API billing quota. Each Space has its own plan and shared usage, so a paid Personal Space does not upgrade a separate Free Space. Under the terms effective July 29, 2026, Free access is licensed for personal, non-commercial purposes; a seller preparing live listings should check the paid-plan licence.
What to check before your next export
Select the correct Space in the web app and open Usage to see the actual balance and renewal date. The table’s weekly 25 is not proof of a second simultaneous Free limit. Also distinguish daily Free Utilities and AI-credit restrictions from exports. Bottom line: the documented monthly Free figure is 100 exports; verify whether the weekly-column figure applies to your Space rather than assuming two concurrent quotas.
