1. Short answer: Kajiki and Aira buses leave from Stop 6

Heading from Kagoshima Airport to Kajiki or Aira? The first thing to find is bus stop 6.

Nangoku Kotsu's official bus stop guide lists Stop 6 for buses toward Makurazaki, Kaseda, Kajiki, Aira and Fukuoka.[1]

So if your question is just:

"Which stop for Kajiki?"

the answer is:

Stop 6.

That's it.

Bus info turns into a maze the more of it you read, so lock in this one number first.

2. "Kagoshima Airport" and "Airport Entrance" are two different stops

This is the one that gets first-timers.

When you look up a route in Google Maps, it may tell you to board at "Airport Entrance" even though you're already at the airport.

But "Kagoshima Airport" and "Airport Entrance" are not the same stop.

Nangoku Kotsu's own route list treats them as separate names, with routes like "Airport Entrance to Kajiki Station" and "Kagoshima Airport to Kajiki Port."[3]

In the case behind this guide, Google Maps showed "Airport Entrance 8:33." Before you walk away from the terminal, check whether a bus leaves from the terminal itself first.

If you're standing at the airport and the map says "go to Airport Entrance," be suspicious.

Google Maps isn't exactly lying. It may just be picking a different stop with a similar name as your starting point.

3. Where do you catch the 8:30 bus?

The official Nangoku Kotsu timetable revised on April 1, 2026 lists an 8:30 departure from Kagoshima Airport on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays, toward Aeon, Kamou and Kusuda.

It runs via Ryonan Elementary School, Kajiki Station and Chosa Station, and the timetable is the one for Stop 6.[2]

October 4, 2026 is a Sunday, so the weekend and holiday schedule applies.

When people say a bus "starts" at the airport here, they mean that trip departs from that stop.

It does not mean it's the first bus of the day.

4. What should you check in Google Maps?

Riding a bus somewhere new gets a lot easier if you check things in the same order every time.

  1. The exact name of your boarding stop

    • Is it "Kagoshima Airport"?
    • Or "Airport Entrance"?
  2. The stops before it

    • Is "Kagoshima Airport" listed before the stop you're told to board at?
  3. The official stop number

    • At big stations and airports, don't rely on Google Maps alone. Check the bus company's official guide too.
  4. The sign on the front of the bus

    • Does it say Kajiki or Aira?
    • Does it go via Kajiki Station?

In short:

Find the route in Google Maps, then confirm the stop with the official info.

That's the least likely way to end up on the wrong bus.

5. Not every bus at Stop 6 is yours

This one is easy to miss.

Stop 6 at Kagoshima Airport isn't just for Kajiki and Aira.

The official guide also lists Makurazaki, Kaseda and Fukuoka buses at Stop 6.[1]

So before you get on, check all three:

  • Stop 6
  • Kajiki or Aira direction
  • Goes via Kajiki Station

"Found Stop 6, I win!" is exactly how buses haul you off somewhere you've never heard of.

Check the sign on the front of the bus too.

6. Summary

Going from Kagoshima Airport toward Kajiki? Look for Stop 6.[1]

The weekend and holiday timetable revised on April 1, 2026 lists an 8:30 bus toward Aeon, Kamou and Kusuda, via Ryonan Elementary School, Kajiki Station and Chosa Station.[2]

And the biggest trap:

"Kagoshima Airport" and "Airport Entrance" are different stops.

If you're in the terminal and the map sends you to "Airport Entrance," check the stops before it and the official stop guide before you start walking.

With trains, "just get to the station" usually works out.

Buses, meanwhile, will casually hit you with "there's another stop with almost the same name."
