description: An incorrect Roblox age check can limit chat and game access. Here are the actual correction options—and the gap for adults without photo ID.
You can make your Roblox avatar look younger in seconds. Having the platform decide that you are 13–15 is less entertaining. On October 10, 2026, a player told r/RobloxHelp that the age bracket was wrong and that they lacked a driver’s license to challenge it.
The answer: Roblox has correction procedures, but it does not guarantee an ID-free solution for every adult.
Check what went wrong first
Roblox says an account that has not completed an age check uses the birthday entered at sign-up. After facial age estimation, the estimated age may determine the account’s bracket. An incorrect saved birthday and an incorrect facial estimate are two different starting points.
This affects more than a profile label: chat permissions and access to some experiences depend on the assigned age.
The routes Roblox actually documents
If the age recorded on your account is at least 13 but facial estimation got it wrong, head to Settings → Account Info → Continue with ID. A license is not the only accepted example. Roblox also lists government-issued photo identification such as a passport or residency card. Use only your own document.
If the account is shown as under 13, Roblox tells users to select the pencil beside their birthday in Account Info to begin changing it. For users under 18, a linked parent may have one opportunity to update the date of birth.
But what if you are an adult with no suitable photo ID at all? The official help article does not promise a universal workaround. It also states that customer support cannot manually verify identification or directly edit account settings. Reporting the problem is not the same as receiving a guaranteed manual override.
What to take away
No driver’s license does not automatically mean no options. No eligible photo ID is a more difficult, unresolved situation. Work out whether the problem is the birthday or the estimate, then follow the route shown in your account. Borrowing someone else’s ID is not a fix.
