When do Napkin AI's 500 free credits reset? Why five slides per week isn't guaranteed

Napkin Free refreshes 500 credits weekly. Check your personal reset date, current slide costs, paid tiers, rollover and export limits.

Napkin AI Free includes 500 AI credits each week, and the Slides product is available without a second subscription. But the claim that 500 credits always buys five slides is no longer a reliable reading of the official help: slide generation and other AI actions can have different costs.

Plans and allowances

Plan Credits Refresh Displayed USD price Key feature
Free 500 Weekly $0 Unlimited PNG/PDF; Napkin watermark
Plus 10,000 per paid seat Monthly $9/person/month Unlimited PPT/SVG; remove branding
Pro 30,000 per paid seat Monthly $22/person/month Custom fonts; optional top-ups
Enterprise Contract-specific Contract-specific Contact sales Negotiated terms

Prices were checked on October 18, 2026. The pricing page advertises a 25% annual-billing discount; taxes and the checkout total may vary. Paid Teamspaces share their credit pool across members.

What day and time do credits return?

Free refreshes weekly; Plus and Pro refresh monthly, even when paid annually. The official help directs you to Account Settings or Teamspace subscription settings to see your own next refresh date. No universal weekday or time zone is published. Unused plan credits do not roll over, while separately purchased top-ups remain available and do not expire. The pricing page lists optional top-ups under Pro.

Is one slide still 100 credits?

An older search-index excerpt of the help article, dated September 2, 2026, described 100 credits per slide. The live official page checked October 18 instead says creating slides, generating images, requesting AI edits and applying Effects may use different amounts. A Visual Effect costs up to 100 credits per visual or slide; that ceiling is not a flat price for creating a slide. The precise effective date of the wording change could not be established from official history.

For Visuals, the pricing page estimates roughly one credit per selected word for text-to-visual generation. Complex work can differ, and the document does not establish identical word-counting behavior across languages. Check the charge displayed inside the app before generating.

Editing and exporting without wasting credits

Manually adjusting an existing visual's colors, icons, shapes or size is free. Reselecting text and using Auto Spark to regenerate consumes credits again. Direct editing in Slides is also free, whereas asking the AI to make changes may consume credits.

Free includes unlimited PNG and PDF exports. The current Slides help allows limited PPT and SVG exports on Free, while paid plans remove those limits. Free visuals carry Napkin branding; removing the logo requires Plus or Pro.

What changed? Bottom line

Napkin announced Slides in beta on July 22, 2026 and included it in the existing subscription alongside Visuals. A weekly allowance now covers several AI actions, not just diagrams. Expect 500 Free credits weekly, check the actual reset date in settings, and use the in-app cost instead of assuming exactly five slides.
