As of October 25, 2026, Slay the Spire 2 has no announced release date for iOS or Android. Developer Mega Crit hopes to reach as many platforms as possible, but its official FAQ says mobile and console editions will probably arrive after Early Access ends.

It's on Steam. Why not on phones?

The sequel entered Steam Early Access on March 5, 2026, for Windows, macOS and Linux. New cards, enemies and characters join a cooperative mode for up to four players. That is a playable PC launch, not a simultaneous App Store or Google Play release.

Early Access gives the studio time to balance cards, add encounters and respond to feedback. Mega Crit suggests the phase might take roughly one to two years, while keeping the end date flexible. This is a development estimate, not a confirmed 2027 mobile launch.

What phone players are actually worried about

In an April 22, 2026 Reddit discussion, a player who still enjoys the original exclusively on a phone hoped the sequel would arrive soon and run reliably. Others discussed streaming the PC game to a handset. Those are real individual comments, not a poll of the fanbase.

The original works particularly well in small pockets of time: choosing a card during a commute, winning a fight over lunch or attempting another floor before bed. For those players, mobile isn't a bonus feature. It's how the game fits into their lives. Watching PC players discover new decks can make the wait feel unusually long.

What works now, and what should you watch?

Steam on a supported computer is the official option today, and Mega Crit confirms Steam Deck compatibility. Remote streaming can display a running PC game on a phone, but it requires a host computer and a suitable connection. That is different from installing a native mobile app.

The announcements that matter are the end of Early Access and a separate confirmation of supported phones and release dates. The first game eventually reached mobile, but its old porting schedule cannot serve as a countdown for the sequel.

Verdict: the Spire is open, but not in your pocket yet

Mobile remains a longer-term platform goal without a confirmed launch window. The studio is building out the PC release first. The most exciting card for phone players may simply read: “Available on your device.”
