Because an old South Park face-off has turned into a new crossover joke. In October 2026, edits put Randy Marsh opposite characters who have no business being in his cartoon's universe, including Minecraft's Steve. Randy approaches every matchup with exactly the same absurd confidence.
The scene that started it
The footage comes from “Broadway Bro Down,” season 15, episode 11 of South Park, which aired October 26, 2011. Randy squares up to composer Stephen Sondheim, spreads his arms and circles him while delivering the casual challenge “What's up, brah?” Their theatrical showdown eventually turns into an alliance.
People were already turning the scene into images in 2012. In October 2026, TikTok and Instagram Reels gave it a fresh life as a versus-edit format. A post dated October 4 paired Randy with Absolute Bane; on October 7, another put him against Steve from Minecraft.
The joke is Randy's confidence
The other fighter changes. The stance, swagger and ridiculous greeting don't. Put him next to a formidable fictional opponent and he still acts as if an aggressively friendly “brah” is a legitimate battle plan.
The question isn't who wins. It's how Randy keeps getting booked for these fights.
