The Parent Split-Face Trend puts half of your face next to half of your mother's or father's face in one portrait. It turns “Who do I look like?” into a picture rather than a family argument. Black-and-white examples circulated on TikTok in September 2026.
What makes the result interesting?
The two faces are aligned at the eyes, nose and mouth. When the features meet neatly at the center, the resemblance can be startling. Sometimes the mismatch is the entertaining part. Siblings and couples have also tried the format. This is a visual comparison, not a genetic test: camera angle, lighting and editing can all change the result.
Where did the trend start?
Know Your Meme documents an August 7, 2026 Instagram post comparing a woman's face with her parents' using a Meta AI tool. An August 19 Russian-language TikTok tutorial demonstrated a CapCut approach. A September 8 tutorial attracted more than 97,900 likes in roughly ten days, according to the September 17 record. The single original creator of the broader trend has not been established.
How do you make one without AI?
Choose two clear, front-facing photos. Resize and align the eyes, then crop one half from each face and join them along a vertical line. A CapCut template can help, but any image editor with layers will do. Turning both images black and white can reduce distracting differences in color. Ask your relative before posting their portrait.
The caption can be as simple as “More like Mom or Dad?” One line down the middle, and a family resemblance becomes an instant debate.
