Keep pests from reaching the night-market gate through all 12 waves. Build attack stalls first, add slowing and area damage when groups become harder to stop, and prepare extra coverage before the typhoon boss waves at 6 and 12. This is a practical plan based on the developer's documented mechanics, not a claim of a tested perfect build.

Play Night Market Defense for free. The October 23, 2026 browser release supports desktop and landscape-oriented mobile devices. You can switch between English and Traditional Chinese on the title screen.

A start-to-finish route

  1. Before wave 1: Examine the path and the gate. Click or tap an empty place beside the road to construct a stall. The game page does not specify the starting budget or exact tower prices, so check the in-game numbers before buying.
  2. Early waves: Establish reliable damage. Bug Zapper delivers fast attacks against a single target; placing one where enemies actually pass is a sensible opening, rather than buying an expensive-looking tower without checking coverage.
  3. When traffic builds: Add Boba Cannon to slow pests. Pair that delay with Stinky Tofu for nearby groups or Popcorn Chicken for splash damage. Slowing an enemy helps only if your other stalls can finish it.
  4. Before wave 6: The first typhoon boss wave is coming. Review gaps in your coverage and spend available resources on an upgrade or a complementary stall before selecting Start wave. Fireworks offers the longest range and biggest explosion of the five stalls.
  5. Waves 7–11: Watch what is escaping. If a fast target slips through, consider slowing and coverage. If clusters survive, prioritize attacks that hit several targets. Every stall has two upgrades.
  6. Before wave 12: Prepare for the second typhoon boss wave. Return to normal speed if you need to read the battlefield, then start the final wave and protect the gate to the end.

What to build and why

Situation Action Documented effect or intended result Source
A single pest needs rapid hits Build Bug Zapper near its route Fast single-target zaps Developer
Pests travel too quickly Add Boba Cannon Sticky pearls slow them Developer
Several enemies overlap Place Stinky Tofu near the path A stink cloud affects nearby enemies Developer
A pack needs burst damage Use Popcorn Chicken Splash damage Developer
Coverage or blast size is lacking Consider Fireworks Longest range and largest blast Developer
An earlier placement is no longer useful Select it and sell Recover 70% of its cost Developer

Controls, mistakes and recovery

Click or tap empty roadside space to build; select an existing stall to upgrade or sell. Press Start wave when ready. Keyboard shortcuts: Space next wave, F speed, 1–5 build, U upgrade, S sell, M music and Esc close/menu. A 2× speed control is available.

Do not confuse damage with crowd control: a Boba Cannon slows enemies, but it is not a substitute for enough firepower. If swarms get through, check whether single-target attacks are being overwhelmed. If money is scarce, compare the two available upgrades with selling an ineffective stall for a 70% refund. These are conditional tactics; no exact placement pattern or guaranteed build order has been established.

Verification boundary: The developer confirms the 12-wave structure, typhoons at 6 and 12, five stall roles, controls, upgrades and refund rate. This guide has not reproduced a full playthrough. Enemy health, tower costs, the map's precise layout and any special typhoon mechanics beyond their appearance remain unverified.

Bottom line

Cover the road with damage, buy time with boba, handle crowds with area attacks, and prepare before both boss waves. The defense is absurdly edible, but the route to victory is about coverage and timing.
