Description: The Figma agent left beta on October 6, 2026. Compare free Starter credits, daily and monthly resets, paid seats, Education access and file permissions.
Yes, you can still try the Figma agent on free Starter, with limited features. Since general availability on October 6, 2026, agent actions consume Figma AI credits. Starter includes 500 credits per month and a separate 150-credit daily cap. Those figures are budgets, not guaranteed prompt counts.[1][2][3]
What changed when beta ended?
During the beta that began in May, agent tasks did not spend the normal Figma AI credit balance. Since October 6, they draw from the same pool as Figma Make and other AI tools. The free tier remains; the beta exemption ended. An older beta help page may still appear in search results promising credit-free usage. Prefer the dated official launch blog and current credit guide for today’s rules.[1][2]
Monthly credits by plan and seat
| Plan or seat | Monthly credits | Access condition |
|---|---|---|
| Free Starter | 500 | 150/day; limited features |
| Professional Full | 3,000 | Files with edit permission |
| Organization Full | 3,500 | Files with edit permission |
| Enterprise Full | 4,250 | Files with edit permission |
| Paid Dev, Collab, View | 500 | Own Drafts; View also 150/day |
| Education | 3,000 | Some eligible Education plans |
When do 150 daily and 500 monthly reset?
Spend 150 credits today on Starter and you may have 350 monthly credits left but still need to wait until tomorrow. The next day restores daily headroom, not the full monthly allowance. The 500 renews on your plan’s monthly reset date; unused seat credits do not roll over. Figma does not specify a universal midnight reset hour. Open a file, select Main menu → AI balance, and check your actual remaining credits and reset date.[2]
How expensive is one agent prompt?
Figma estimates 30+ credits for changing fonts, 100+ for summarizing a canvas and 300+ for generating a five-screen mobile checkout flow. The last example exceeds Starter’s daily cap, so it is not a guaranteed one-shot free task. Consumption varies with the model, task complexity, attached context and chat history; the actual charge is visible after completion.[2]
Shared files, Education and buying more
A Full seat with edit permission can ask the agent to modify shared files. Dev, Collab and View seats can chat there and request edits in their own Drafts. Education receives 3,000 monthly credits, but the launch blog says only some Education plans qualify for the agent. Eligible paid-plan admins can buy a shared monthly credit package or enable pay-as-you-go with a spending cap. Free accounts are not automatically billed. Undoing an already processed AI action does not refund credits.[1][2][3][4][5]
Bottom line: Starter still provides limited free access, subject to 150 credits per day and 500 per month. Check your seat, file permissions and AI balance before a large request.
