Absorb smaller matter, spend the mass earned from short runs on upgrades, and consume each stage boss to reach the next scale. Repeat this across six stages until you can swallow the universe. As of v0.4.0, staying motionless in the middle drains stability twice as fast, so actively collect rather than parking your black hole.
Where to play and what counts as finishing
Play Spaghettify in your browser. Noah__1302 released this free-to-play black-hole incremental game on October 22, 2026 (21:52 UTC); the v0.4.0 browser build followed on October 24 (19:51 UTC). You progress from dust to asteroids, planets, stars and galaxies before the final cosmic scale. The developer estimates roughly 1.5–2 hours to reach the end, although individual runs are short.
A repeatable progression plan
- Start a run and gather matter small enough for your current black hole. Watch both your mass and the stability meter.
- Keep moving. In v0.4.0, remaining idle at the center doubles the stability drain; the bar flashes yellow to warn you.
- When a run ends, use the mass you earned to buy upgrades. Affordable nodes glow; their rings show level, and fully upgraded nodes turn gold. Tab selects the next affordable upgrade.
- Return to the stage, grow further and consume its boss. That unlocks the next scale.
- If you want to revisit an earlier stage, use the arrows beside its name. Only upgrades available up to that stage count in the replay.
What changes between stages?
| Encounter | How to respond |
|---|---|
| Asteroid meteor shower | A dashed lane telegraphs incoming rocks. They are valuable, so intercept when you can do so safely |
| Planets and moons | Moons break free when their planet is swallowed; track the departing moons rather than assuming the encounter is over |
| Pulsars and blue giants | Two pink sweeping beams shove you and drain stability. Blue giants swell before exploding: consume them early or stay clear |
| Rival black holes | Rivals eat and grow, then flee. Larger rivals return more stability when consumed |
| Bosses | The dwarf planet runs, the gas giant carries four moons, the red giant emits shock waves, and the galaxy cluster spawns rivals |
| Last stage | Consuming the universe triggers the Big Crunch sequence and a white-out; no separate secret key sequence is specified |
Controls, upgrades and challenges
The developer lists mouse, keyboard, gamepad and touch support, but does not publish a complete desktop movement-key map. P pauses in v0.4.0; Esc may first exit browser fullscreen. Tab jumps to the next upgrade you can afford. On a phone in landscape orientation, drag anywhere to move the hole and tap to fire a gravity pulse. In the upgrade tree, drag to pan, pinch to zoom, tap a node for details and tap again to buy. No tested optimal pulse rhythm is available.
There are 68 upgrades, including accretion disks, jets, companion holes and supernovas. Rather than claiming a universal purchase order, check which node is affordable and which obstacle is stopping your next run. Each of the 18 optional challenges (three per stage) grants a permanent +4% mass bonus. One example asks you to eat 56 blue giants in one run. Each stage offers bronze, silver and gold medals; there are 27 achievements in total. The exact requirements for every challenge are not all documented in the release notes.
v0.4.0 questions
Can I win by staying still? Not with the old idle strategy: stability now drains twice as fast when stationary at center. Holding a caught boss in place still counts as fighting. What are the sparkling particles in stage six? Cross-shaped twinkles distinguish stability pickups from filaments. Picking up a grain at full stability no longer reduces the value of later grains. Can I transfer my save? Settings provide text save codes for export and import. Is 75 minutes the completion limit? No: under 75 minutes is the Light Speed achievement target, not the normal ending requirement.
Ending, scope and sources
The six-stage journey culminates in eating the universe; v0.4.0 adds a visible Big Crunch and white-out. This guide uses the developer's game page, patch notes and public feedback, not a claimed personal completion. Exact best builds, timing windows and all challenge solutions remain untested. A cosmic devourer that must keep moving to survive has surprisingly little time for a break.
