Description: Follow the three routes currently available in the demo, unlock conditional campfire conversations, understand the Paloma opening choice, and avoid missing secrets through the skip feature.

The current release of Record of Greypine offers three main routes leading to the end of its demo: Ben, Liam and Allen. These are not the completed game's final endings. For the bonfire event, the developer specifically recommends choosing “sits next to Paloma” near the beginning if you're unsure how to reach it. This guide cross-checks the July 16, 2026 route hints against the August 21 v1.0.2 patch. Demo route spoilers ahead.

Route and secret-dialogue checklist

Target Requirement Actions and order Result Evidence URL Version Spoiler
Ben route Help Ben Choose “Help Ben” Ben-related dialogue Developer guide 1.0.1→1.0.2* Yes
Ben–Allen secret Ben help and bonfire Consider “sits next to Paloma” early; select “Help Ben”; reach the bonfire; a late refusal may be required Secret late-night conversation Developer guide 1.0.1→1.0.2* Yes
Ben bonfire variation Reach bonfire Trigger the bonfire event while on Ben's path Extra campfire dialogue Developer guide 1.0.1→1.0.2* Yes
Liam companion Help Liam Choose “Help Liam” Unique companion scene Developer guide 1.0.1→1.0.2* Yes
Liam variations Bonfire or no bonfire After “Help Liam”, reaching the bonfire adds campfire dialogue; missing it adds dialogue about the companion Two dialogue variants Developer guide 1.0.1→1.0.2* Yes
Allen bonfire Responses Allen likes Pick dialogue that pleases Allen; “Help Allen” also controls whether some lines appear Allen campfire event Developer guide 1.0.1→1.0.2* Yes

*The walkthrough was authored for v1.0.1; v1.0.2 is currently downloadable and adds Cannibun-related campfire dialogue. These steps have not been replay-tested. The developer mentions that a refusal may be necessary for the Ben–Allen secret but does not provide its exact wording or a numeric threshold.

How to reach the bonfire

The developer's concrete hint is “sits next to Paloma” at the start if the bonfire is proving elusive. Treat it as a useful opening choice, not proof that a single click guarantees the event on every route. Help Ben for his branch, help Liam for his companion scene, and choose responses that please Allen for his bonfire. The secret conversation between Ben and Allen requires the Ben-help and bonfire combination, with a possible additional refusal later. An exact full dialogue sequence has not been published.

Why skipping can cost you a secret

After completing one playthrough, you can skip the introduction, videotape and “ask about .....” conversation. The developer warns that unlocking the secret requires reading every option in those sections instead of pressing skip. Fast replay is useful when collecting known scenes; for secret hunting, revisit unexamined choices before skipping. This is explicitly stated in the official guide.

Version 1.0.2, saves and gallery questions

The August 21 patch note reports an attempted fix for saves loading at the wrong scene and new Cannibun dialogue so the campfire makes sense outside Liam's route. The developer also says the underlying save issue was not fully understood and requests player confirmation; don't treat the patch as a proven cure on every machine. The original name-entry crash was addressed in v1.0.1. The game page lists a gallery, glossary, over ten CGs and one VHS tape, but doesn't establish the exact unlock path for Allen's cheek-touch illustration or Ben's remaining gallery images. A proposed hidden password for profile details was a development idea, not a confirmed working command.

Sources and verification scope

Official download, route guide, v1.0.2 patch, development log, and roadmap. Checked October 22, 2026. Current v1.0.2 downloads are listed for Windows and macOS; Linux appears in platform metadata but no v1.0.2 Linux file is listed. No actual playthrough or complete CG unlock test was performed.

Conclusion

Ben: help plus bonfire. Liam: help plus the presence or absence of bonfire. Allen: favorable dialogue. Avoid skipping unexplored options while hunting secrets. In this horror story, getting invited to the campfire is itself part of the mystery.
