Description: Tencent has a 2027 target for Season 2. Here's why the three 2026 specials do not confirm a January premiere, and what fans are actually asking.
Lord of Mysteries Season 2 is planned for 2027, but no specific premiere month or date was established by the sources reviewed as of October 26, 2026. The three June 2026 episodes are specials, not Season 2's opening installments. January remains a fan hope rather than a dated announcement.
Where the 2027 target originated
The Chinese animated adaptation follows Zhou Mingrui, who awakens as Klein Moretti in a world of steam technology, secret organizations and supernatural powers. Season 1 premiered in 2025. At Tencent Video's August 2025 animation event, producers presented a long-term adaptation roadmap. Anime Corner reported that Season 2 was planned for 2027 with more than 30 episodes across two parts. A producer roadmap is meaningful evidence, but it does not reserve a January release slot.
What happened in June 2026
On April 28, Crunchyroll and Tencent announced three specials for June: “City of Silver” for June 20 and two “The Marked Hunt” episodes later that month. B.CMAY PICTURES produced stories involving the Tarot Club and Backlund. They provide new material without starting the numbered second season. Crunchyroll specified that the specials covered territories worldwide excluding Japan and China. That distribution notice does not establish Season 2's regional availability.
Why fans keep asking about January
On October 24, a viewer who had finished Season 1 and the specials asked on Reddit whether Season 2 might arrive early in 2027, perhaps January. Replies discussed purported completed or approved episode counts. Those are community claims, not an official premiere schedule. Animation, review, localization, scheduling and licensing can proceed on different timelines; even verified production progress would not automatically supply a streaming date.
What would settle the question
Watch for a dated Season 2 notice from Tencent Video or an authorized platform, specifying the first part's month, day, release pattern and territories. More than 30 planned episodes does not reveal whether viewers will receive weekly installments or separate batches.
Bottom line: The production roadmap points to 2027. January is still speculation. The next destination is on the map, but the departure board has no time.
