Five free GPU-minutes are not five image generations. Compare the first-use reset, older PRO advice and free hosting requirements.

Signed-in Free accounts currently receive five ZeroGPU GPU-minutes per day. The allowance resets exactly 24 hours after the period’s first GPU use, rather than at a universal midnight. PRO receives 40 minutes and anonymous visitors two.

Does five minutes mean five images?

ZeroGPU assigns shared GPU hardware only while a supported Space needs compute. Minutes are pooled across Spaces under your account. A demanding video can cost much more than a quick image. The xlarge GPU size counts 45 seconds of work as 90 seconds of quota; a job’s requested runtime can also exceed your remaining balance.

Account Daily GPU time Beyond quota
Anonymous 2 min —
Free 5 min —
PRO 40 min Prepaid extension
Team 40 min Prepaid extension
Enterprise 60 min Prepaid extension

When does the allowance return?

If the first job starts at 8:15 p.m., the nominal reset is 8:15 p.m. the following day in the same time zone. Check the actual timestamp with hf spaces zero-gpu quota or get_zero_gpu_quota() and its resets_at field.

Why do older guides say 25 minutes?

On September 15, 2025, Hugging Face staff confirmed 25 daily PRO minutes. A May 13, 2026 documentation change accompanied the move from H200 to RTX Pro 6000 Blackwell GPUs. Today’s official table gives Free five and PRO 40 minutes. Older community posts also mention 3.5 Free minutes; the exact effective date of each increase is not established here. Current product documentation takes precedence.

Can a Free user host a Space?

Using an existing Space differs from hosting one. A Free personal account with verified email, more than 30 days of age and good standing may host two ZeroGPU Spaces. PRO can host ten; Team and Enterprise organizations up to 50. ZeroGPU currently requires Gradio, while ordinary Gradio/Docker compute Spaces may require a paid subscription. PRO, Team and Enterprise can extend usage with prepaid credits at US$1 per ten extra GPU-minutes. PRO is advertised at US$9/month; checkout and taxes may vary. Inference Providers API credits are separate.

Bottom line

For Free, budget five GPU-minutes and 24 hours from first use. Read your account’s actual reset timestamp rather than waiting for midnight.
