Description: Bolt.new Free shows 300,000 tokens per day and 1 million per month. Learn why the daily limit is not a daily refill, when the monthly budget resets, and why an official help page still says 150K.
Bolt.new's Free plan has two limits at once: 300,000 tokens per day and 1,000,000 per calendar month. A new day restores your daily capacity, not a fresh 300K addition to the monthly balance. Once the million-token monthly allowance is exhausted, waiting one day will not unlock more AI generation.
Compare the plans before you upgrade
| Plan | Listed monthly price (USD) | Token allowance | Reset and rollover |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | 300K/day, 1M/month | Monthly allowance resets on the 1st; no rollover |
| Pro | From $25 | From 10M/month; no daily cap | Subscription renewal date; one extra month of rollover |
| Teams | From $30 per member | Allocation belongs to each member, not a shared pool | Subscription renewal date |
| Enterprise | Custom | Contract-specific | Contract-specific |
Prices refer to the vendor's monthly-billing display. Annual discounts, taxes, currencies and checkout conditions may vary. Teams' precise allowance depends on the selected tier and member allocation.
Here is the catch: spend 300K on Monday, 300K on Tuesday and 300K on Wednesday. You have used 900K. Thursday may have a 300K daily ceiling again, but the remaining monthly balance is only 100K. Spend it and Friday's daily reset cannot resurrect a depleted monthly bucket. The headline daily number is a speed limit, not 30 separate deposits.
What time does the free limit reset?
Bolt's token help says Free monthly allowances reset on the first day of each calendar month; paid plans reset on their own subscription renewal dates. The official pricing page and QuickStart do not specify a universal hour or time zone for the daily boundary. Claims that it is definitely midnight UTC should therefore be treated as unverified for your account. Sign in and inspect Subscription for your remaining tokens and current entitlement.
Why does one official page say 150K?
As checked on October 18, 2026, Bolt's live pricing page and its QuickStart both state 300K daily / 1M monthly. The separate token help article still contains a 150K daily sentence. That older-looking line conflicts with two current product-facing pages; Bolt has not supplied a confirmed effective date for the change in the sources reviewed. For today's advertised plan, the pricing page corroborated by QuickStart is the stronger reference. Account-specific limits should still be checked in the signed-in interface.
What can you do with zero AI tokens?
The official QuickStart says direct edits in Code view and restoring a version from Version history do not spend AI tokens. You can therefore keep working manually while waiting. Bolt also explains that reading and syncing project files consumes tokens, so a short prompt on a large project can be more expensive than expected.
Paid subscriptions gained an extra month of token rollover on July 1, 2025. Unused subscription allocations are valid for up to two months from issue, provided a paid subscription remains active. Eligible top-tier monthly or annual subscribers can buy non-expiring reload tokens; that is distinct from the free allowance.
Bottom line
Think 300K maximum in one day, 1M maximum in one month. Check which meter is exhausted before deciding whether tomorrow helps or whether you must wait for the next calendar month. The 150K figure remains an unresolved discrepancy in Bolt's own documentation, not a reason to silently rewrite the advertised 300K limit.
