Didn't spot TOUGEN ANKI in a fall 2026 streaming roundup? That is a reason to check the schedule, not to declare the anime dead.
Short answer: Season 2 has not been cancelled. The Nikko Kegon Falls Arc began airing in Japan on October 2, 2026. Whether the newest episode is available on your local streaming account is a separate question.
On September 15, fans discussing Crunchyroll's fall lineup asked about the second season. Some wondered whether it would be added later or slip to another season. Those were real questions about a lineup announcement—not evidence of a production shutdown.
The show's Japanese official site gives a concrete broadcast date: Fridays from October 2 at 11:30 p.m. JST. The story moves beyond Kyoto and Nerima to Nikko, where Kegon Falls has stopped flowing and a disturbing research facility awaits. It's a pretty ominous change of scenery for anyone hoping the cast was taking a scenic break.
There's another useful clue. The official international TOUGEN ANKI site lists both Crunchyroll and Netflix among its distribution platforms, with the note “except Japan and Mainland China.” Other platforms serve selected territories. It also warns that release dates can differ by platform and country.
But read that carefully: a platform appearing on the show's general international page isn't a promise that Season 2 Episode 1 is playable in every country right now, or that subtitles and release times match. Check the season selector, episode list and regional page on the service you actually use. Don't assume an older autumn roundup overrides a newer official program page.
Bottom line: the anime continued; your region's episode availability still needs checking. The fight between Oni and Momotaro is going ahead. The battle against streaming calendars is, regrettably, yours.
