No. Free users who joined before September 3, 2026 qualify for up to seven lifetime trial song downloads. Accounts created on or after that date may occasionally receive trial downloads, but seven are not guaranteed. This is separate from the 50 generation credits replenished daily. The wording matters. A September 9 general FAQ says “up to seven” for Free accounts. But the September 3 eligibility article and the footnote to Suno's August 10 announcement distinguish older signups from new ones. For deciding whether your newly created account qualifies, use the more specific signup-date rule.
Why do credits return while downloads do not?
Think of two separate meters. Generation credits pay for creating music; download allowances govern saving song files outside Suno. The Free plan receives up to 50 generation credits daily on a UTC-based schedule. Seven trial downloads, where eligible, are a lifetime total. The pricing page says Free has no monthly song downloads. That is compatible with a one-time trial allowance: zero recurring monthly downloads does not rule out a limited initial grant. The same page rules out buying extra generation credits on Free, whereas the download policy allows purchases of additional downloads. These are different products.
Does downloading an MP3 and then a different format count twice?
Suno counts one distinct song as one download, regardless of format. Re-downloading the same song costs no additional download, stems from that song are included when your plan supports them, and interrupted or failed downloads do not count. Paid-plan resets and the commercial-rights trap
Pro's 20 downloads and Premier's 60 reset on the account's monthly billing date, including for annual subscribers. Unused monthly downloads expire instead of rolling forward; exports inside Premier's Suno Studio are exempt. Reset details.
Trial downloads are for personal, noncommercial use. If you plan to release or monetize a track, check both when it was created and the subscription in effect when it was downloaded. What changed, and when?
Suno announced its new download policy on August 10, 2026, effective September 3. Generation credits remain a separate limit, while file exports now have their own quotas. As of the current pricing table, Free's best model is v6-mini and the advanced v6 and v6-wild models belong to paid tiers. The precise number of occasional trial downloads for post-cutoff signups is not publicly fixed; check the balance shown in your account.
Bottom line
The seven-download headline applies to eligible older Free accounts, not automatically to everyone signing up today. Your 50 daily creation credits can refresh while your download count stays put. Verify the signup date, remaining trial allowance and intended usage rights before choosing which songs to export.
