Description: Wilds supports hunting together across PS5, Xbox and PC. But can your carefully built hunter, armour and story progress move to Steam when you change systems?
Short answer: no. Crossplay allows players on different platforms to join the same hunt. It does not provide cross-save support that carries a PS5 character over to the Steam edition.
Same party, separate progress
Capcom describes multiplayer between PS5, Xbox Series X|S and Steam. That's about connecting people, not syncing every player's equipment box. The fact that your friend on PC can join your hunt doesn't mean your PS5 save will load on their platform.
An August 5, 2026 discussion included a PS5 player who liked the idea of playing on another device but didn't want to start a new character. Another thread contains accounts of hunters replaying story quests and collecting gear again after switching platforms. Those are player experiences, not Capcom promises or a survey of everyone.
Would a Switch 2 version change things?
Some fans hope for a port. A rumour about a release isn't confirmation, and even an eventual port would need a separate announcement to promise shared saves. Don't treat a platform list as a progress-transfer policy.
As of October 13, 2026: Don't buy Wilds on Steam expecting your PS5 hunter to appear there. Look for an explicit cross-save or cross-progression announcement first. Your friends can travel between platforms for a hunt. Your hard-earned armour currently can't.
