Description: Where the October 2026 Yujin teleport clip came from, how far it spread, why the movement looks impossible and what the editing debate actually establishes.

IVE's An Yujin appears to jump between poses during “Looks Can Kill.” Her hand crosses her face, then her head and shoulders seem to occupy a new position without a visible transition. The “teleport” joke started with fan footage of a real stage performance, not a superhero effect.[2][3]

What happens at eight seconds?

A roughly 16-second clip filmed at a Spotify-related performance on October 19, 2026 was posted on October 21. Its caption directs viewers to around the eight-second mark.[2] Watch the hand: it pulls your gaze just as Yujin switches her upper-body position. On a loop, the movement in between seems to have gone missing.

M2 also published an official individual fancam from M COUNTDOWN on October 22.[1] This is a separate performance, not the original October 19 file. It helps viewers understand the choreography in full.

How far did it travel?

IVE pre-released “Looks Can Kill” on October 19, ahead of an EP scheduled for October 26.[7] Fans began calling the movement a teleport or dropped frames. A Chilean K-pop outlet discussed the footage and alternative angles on October 22, documenting interest beyond Korean-speaking circles.[3]

A commercial trend site reported about 1.53 million plays for the 16-second post and about 1.44 million for a different five-second cut around October 22.[6] Those are dated third-party snapshots of separate posts, not verified current counts or a worldwide total. In a satirical Reddit thread, users joked that Yujin was an AI idol or that the camera needed a better processor.[4] Fans also discussed a dance video from IVE's official TikTok dated October 23.[5]

Was it edited?

The source was a real performance, and clips from other angles circulated.[3] That does not establish that every repost preserved the original frame rate or playback speed. The cited sources contain no conclusive technical examination of each cut.

A plausible visual explanation is that a face-covering hand gesture distracts the eye while the head, shoulders and balance shift quickly. This is an interpretation of the illusion, not an official choreographer's statement. Compare normal-speed footage and another angle before deciding what you saw.

Real performance or AI recreation?

AI-video services later advertised ways to put a different person into the move using one photo.[6] Those are generated remakes. The original joke is that a real dancer seems to outrun the frames of a camera. Search “Yujin teleport,” “Looks Can Kill glitch,” or “안유진 순간이동.”

Conclusion

The song already has a superhero theme. The internet simply assigned Yujin an extra power: moving faster than the video player. She finished the next step while viewers were still replaying second eight.
