Description: “It's Me, It's Verity” is Horror Skunx's July 2026 fan song about a creepy Minecraft helper. Its catchy introduction became a remix template: creators replace the yellow face, bend the name and turn horror into increasingly ridiculous character auditions.
A smiling yellow face introduces itself with the confidence of a children's-show host. The audio comes from “It's Me, It's Verity,” a July 10, 2026 fan music video by Horror Skunx, and the joke is to replace Verity with something more absurd. The cheery delivery makes the character's horror origin even stranger.
The character was creepy before the song was catchy
YouTuber ThatMob began a Minecraft horror series called Verity in May 2026. Its floating yellow smiley is presented as a helpful assistant that can locate resources and villages. The story gradually makes that friendly face far less reassuring. The design is simple enough to recognize instantly: a smile and a bad feeling.
Horror Skunx turned the character into a fan song and video on July 10. Know Your Meme reported more than 17 million YouTube views within roughly a month. That figure describes the recorded period, not a live view count.
How did it become an endless parade of new names?
The song's introduction is a neat little slot for another character. On July 22, 2026, a TikTok edit swapped in an oversized yellow figure called “Obesity”; Know Your Meme recorded more than nine million views in four days. Its guide also describes “Mogity,” a swaggering, hyper-confident variation. Other creators sang along, replaced the visuals or recut the same audio around unrelated characters.
If you encounter the sound in a short video, listen for the familiar self-introduction and watch what takes Verity's place. The punch line might be an altered name, an impossibly different face or the seriousness with which someone performs the nonsense. The documented examples span YouTube, TikTok and Instagram; popularity in individual countries has not been measured here.
Verity started as the helper you shouldn't trust. The remix turned the door into a revolving one: every new monster gets to announce its own entrance.
