Description: The Akon song, September 2026 selfie, October AI cat versions and the actual observations behind the viral clips.

A white cat in a mustard-colored suit films itself beside floodlit tennis courts, sings Akon's “I Wanna Love You” and throws a paw into the air. This is an AI-generated TikTok meme from October 2026, adapted from a dramatic selfie-style performance posted a few days earlier. The cat has inherited the original performer's very serious stage presence.

Where did it start?

On September 29, @primeclippss_ posted a selfie-style night performance near tennis courts. The figure sings, raises an arm and falls back toward the grass. On October 1, @novoreel recreated the moves with a white cat wearing a corduroy suit, shirt and tie. The courts are the video's setting, not evidence of an actual feline concert. The soundtrack is Akon's 2006 single “I Wanna Love You,” featuring Snoop Dogg, as confirmed by Apple Music. A romantic song sounds wonderfully overblown when the singer is a cat staring earnestly into a phone.

Did it really spread?

A tracker recorded about 22.9 million plays for the October 1 white-cat post by October 19. Its October 20 observations put @novoreel's October 5 black-cat version at roughly 5.8 million and @fluffyfishlover's October 10 cat-in-a-cap version at roughly 6.6 million. These are separate post counts, not a global total. An October 4 orange-cat version wears a checked suit and polka-dot bow tie, performs a longer routine and falls onto the grass. Dog remakes followed. A tracker also documented a Chelsea FC kit variation from the British football club's account. One participating account does not establish nationwide popularity. The best-documented circulation is on English-language TikTok.

Why is it funny, and how do you use it?

The signature sequence is a close-up selfie, intense singing, one paw held high and a return to the lens. A tiny pet acts like the headliner at a sold-out stadium. People can recreate it with their pets using AI or caption it with an exaggerated everyday complaint. “My cat when dinner is three minutes late” is an example written for this article, not a real user's comment. The cats are digitally animated; they did not sing.

Conclusion

The Akon cat combines a 2006 love song with a 2026 selfie meme. Twenty years later, the imaginary new lead singer has whiskers, a tie and no stage fright.
