Description: HELIOS Rising Heroes ends its online service in Japan on December 28, 2026. An offline update is planned, but keeping a character gallery is different from keeping a live game. Here is what the developer says will survive—and what changes for players.

Yes: the offline version is intended to preserve stories and hero cards for viewing. Happy Elements says the online service ends at 2:59 p.m. Japan time on December 28, 2026. Players will be able to revisit selected parts of the game's six-year history, though the original currency-and-event loop will end.

Can you read stories you never unlocked?

The September 28 official notice says the offline app is planned to make its included stories and hero cards viewable regardless of individual progress. The team's longer message also names the Hero Room, home customization, album, and battle simulation among planned features. In other words, it is designed to serve as more than a screenshot folder.

There are important limits: some stories, voiced lines, and background tracks will be excluded. Rubies and items will no longer work, and the update's release date has yet to be announced. The promise concerns access to an archive, not the continued release of playable events or new cards. It also does not mean each player's original account collection will be transferred intact.

Why does an archive still feel like goodbye?

In a first-person blog post published September 29, one player explained that even an offline edition could not replace the prospect of watching the heroes grow through new stories. That is a specific fan's view, not a claim about the entire audience. But it captures the gap between being able to revisit the past and having another chapter to look forward to.

The developers addressed that choice directly. After finishing the main story, Like the dawning light, they chose to conclude the arcs of the 20 heroes instead of starting another main storyline. Five after-story installments run through November, and selected older event stories receive full voice acting from December 1. The closing schedule offers an ending rather than a sudden cliff edge.

What should players do before December 28?

Unused paid Rubies at shutdown qualify for refunds under the Japanese notice. Details will appear later in the offline app, and the developer asks players to keep the app installed until the refund is complete. Refunds are restricted to Japanese bank accounts. These terms concern the Japanese service; overseas readers should not assume their region has an identical payment arrangement.

Bottom line: HELIOS Rising Heroes is preserving a place to revisit the heroes, not keeping the old online world running. A stage sequel, exhibitions, and publications are also planned. The album remains open; the anticipation of tomorrow's new chapter is the part an album cannot recreate.
