Spoilers for the Chiikawa comic posted on October 12, 2026.

Those stars have some nerve.

In the latest Shisa story, the little ramen-shop worker looks up at the night sky and tries to return a drinking qualification he never wanted to receive this way. The stars don't answer. He calls again. Nothing. Eventually, he starts giving a full presentation about how he's going to reorganize his life.

When the stars granted the wish, they were incredibly efficient. When the customer wants to return the result? Suddenly, no one is at the desk. [1]

He asked for help, not an instant certificate

Here's the setup. Shisa works at the ramen shop Rou and studies for an alcohol-related qualification, a requirement within Chiikawa's fictional world. Exhausted from balancing work and study, he rescued some stars and wished he could earn the qualification sooner.

An actual certificate appeared.

It sounds like a dream come true, except Shisa wanted to earn it. Having the result dropped into his lap wasn't the same as passing through his own effort. He even struggled to celebrate with his beloved mentor. [2][3]

Maybe the stars were genuinely trying to be kind. But they skipped one tiny question: was this the kind of help Shisa meant?

The customer-support department is apparently in space

On October 12, Shisa tries to give the qualification back. No stars. No reply. No magical return label.

And because he's Shisa, he doesn't just give up. He announces a presentation—to an audience that has not arrived.

He explains that he'll take some time away from work and studying, reset, and try not to push himself too hard. Picture someone turning up to a meeting alone, opening the slides anyway, and delivering the entire speech to the empty chairs.

That's both hilarious and painfully in character. [1]

The stars are absent. The decision is still his.

The funny part has a surprisingly gentle core. Shisa's speech isn't only addressed to the stars. It's also a promise to himself.

After advice from Kurimanju about resting, he finally makes room in his plans for something other than more effort: a break. [2]

The comic does not establish that the certificate has actually been returned, or what the stars will do next. The missing customer-service desk is our joke, not a real institution in the story.

But the contrast is wonderful: the stars made a major decision for Shisa without checking how he felt. Shisa, standing alone beneath them, is finally making a decision of his own.

Now, seriously: where do you mail a return package addressed to “the night sky”?
