Description: A 19 October 2026 nomination preview brought together a Mammootty film quote, shaving foam and a pointed remark about a blanket. A recent trophy reversal makes the exchange sharper.

Noby Binu invoked “Jao,” Hindi for “go,” while nominating Vipin Nair for possible elimination. It evokes a line associated with Mammootty in the Malayalam film Bheeshma Parvam. Vipin responded that Noby should first come out from under his blanket before judging other people's contributions. Movie-star swagger met a very ordinary housemate's insult.

The show and the scene

Bigg Boss Malayalam is the Malayalam-language edition of India's house-sharing reality competition, hosted by actor Mohanlal. Season eight began on 6 September 2026 on Asianet and JioHotstar. Housemates nominate one another for possible eviction.

On 19 October, the Times of India described a preview of the seventh week's open nomination task. Noby said Vipin was insufficiently active. The task involved shaving foam: Noby applied it to Vipin, who prepared to return the gesture. These details come from reporting about a preview, not from a direct viewing of the complete episode.

What do “Bombay wala” and “Jao” mean?

Noby reportedly called Vipin a “Bombay wala,” roughly someone associated with Bombay, now Mumbai, before using “Jao.” The Hindi word is ordinary, but it carries extra theatrical force through the 2022 film Bheeshma Parvam. Indian reporting in 2024 noted the movie's “Jao” circulating as a meme. Borrowing a cinematic dismissal does not mean Vipin was already eliminated: nomination and eviction are separate stages.

Why did the blanket line sting?

Noby criticised Vipin's level of participation. Vipin shifted the focus to the critic's credibility: how can someone assess the others without first emerging from their own blanket? It was sarcasm, not verified evidence of how long Noby slept.

There was also history. On 13 October, reports said Mohanlal took a Best Player trophy back from Noby and gave it to Vipin for his independent play. The person accused of inactivity had recently been rewarded for initiative. Nilina was eliminated in the 18 October weekend episode and Noby reportedly became emotional; discussion of their closeness on television is not proof of private feelings.

The answer

“Jao” added the authority of a gangster-film line. The blanket comeback punctured that authority with a domestic image, while the trophy provided an ironic reminder of the previous week's judgement. One contestant borrowed a movie hero's order to leave; the other effectively said: get out of bed and look around first.
