Description: Barf Simmons is a creepy fan-made distortion of Bart Simpson, not a new character from the cartoon. Here's where the blue-skinned figure came from, how the edits spread in 2026, and why the joke feels like lost footage.

Barf Simmons, also called Barf Symptons, is an internet-made horror version of Bart Simpson. He has blue skin, a green shirt and a neck stretched far beyond anything you would expect from The Simpsons. The appeal is that you can recognize Bart immediately—and then wish you hadn't.

Where did the image start?

Know Your Meme identifies a July 7, 2026 TikTok post from the account @barfsymptons as its earliest documented example. The picture shows the altered character standing in a dark alley, rendered with the grainy look of a damaged recording. The original cartoon's clean, bright design has been traded for the suggestion that somebody found footage they were never meant to see.

Both spellings, “Barf Simmons” and “Barf Symptons,” appear in coverage. Neither name establishes a canon Simpsons storyline. Think of him as a deliberately wrong-looking offshoot of a very familiar character.

Why did people start putting him in other videos?

The account kept building on the initial pictures. On August 16 it uploaded an edit incorporating the Robert Loggia meme; on August 17 a video had ordinary Bart encounter Barf. When Know Your Meme compiled the story on August 21, those clips were reported to have over 1.2 million views in five days and over 784,000 in four days, respectively.

That shift from an eerie picture to an intruder in another clip is the joke's engine. A recognizable cartoon kid is treated like a creature from a late-night horror upload. Even the small misnaming—Bart becoming Barf—makes the whole thing feel like a bootleg universe with one deeply unfortunate design decision.

Is Barf Simmons coming to Fortnite?

An August 20 post claimed that he was coming to Fortnite. That is an example of the conversation around the meme, not evidence of a game announcement. A fan edit, a viral claim and official news have different standards of proof.

Barf Simmons works because the disguise is almost convincing. It's Bart, until the neck enters the room first. At that point, the family sitcom has apparently wandered into the wrong genre.
