A route-by-route guide to the six endings, the two safe drinking choices, food traps, poison opportunities and repeat-play dialogue.

⚠ SPOILERS / en — six endings and branching choices below.

The wedding night begins with a poisoned toast—and death sends you back to the table. There are six endings in A cup of eternity. The most reliable way to hunt them is to separate the opening drinking puzzle from the later affection, food and poisoning decisions. The developer's walkthrough supplies the route logic; this guide puts the consequences side by side.

Ending Requirement Choice sequence Outcome Source URL Version Spoiler
1 — Naive Choose unsafe drinking methods, or fail to win affection without retaliation Fail a toast; alternatively swap cups an even number of times The poisoned cup comes back to you https://arghbulous.itch.io/a-cup-of-eternity/devlog/991531/walkthrough-for-all-endings guide: 1.02 / current listing: 1.1.2 SPOILER
2 — Love Build the groom's affection Survive both toasts → serve him soup → withhold fish → pick favorable conversation → avoid poisoning Romantic route https://arghbulous.itch.io/a-cup-of-eternity/devlog/991531/walkthrough-for-all-endings guide: 1.02 / current listing: 1.1.2 SPOILER
3 — Scheming Make him dislike you and avoid detection Survive → choose unfavorable replies → poison his cup while his attention is elsewhere Scheming route https://arghbulous.itch.io/a-cup-of-eternity/devlog/991531/walkthrough-for-all-endings guide: 1.02 / current listing: 1.1.2 SPOILER
4 — Poison master Poison successfully with affection, or complete an undetected swap Build affection → exploit a distraction to poison or switch cups; the dangerous-dish route also qualifies Poison-master route https://arghbulous.itch.io/a-cup-of-eternity/devlog/991531/walkthrough-for-all-endings guide: 1.02 / current listing: 1.1.2 SPOILER
5 — Clumsy Be caught poisoning or swapping Attempt the tampering when he can notice Caught-in-the-act route https://arghbulous.itch.io/a-cup-of-eternity/devlog/991531/walkthrough-for-all-endings guide: 1.02 / current listing: 1.1.2 SPOILER
6 — Food Eat the dangerous dish yourself Choose the poisoned food for the protagonist Food route https://arghbulous.itch.io/a-cup-of-eternity/devlog/991531/walkthrough-for-all-endings guide: 1.02 / current listing: 1.1.2 SPOILER

The two safe drinking choices—in order

First choose Feed each other your cups. On the second toast, choose Drink with cross-linked arms. These are not interchangeable: the groom changes tactics after his first attempt fails. Once you survive, save before testing food and conversation branches so the opening puzzle does not consume every replay.

Affection, food and the best time to tamper

To raise affection, feed him the soup and do not give him fish. The favorable hobby reply is Is that the Scholar's passion?; the favorable politics reply is Glad we could find an agreement. Talking about the moon is neutral, as is eating soup or fish yourself. Keep the kiss topic until third if affection is already high, or leave it until last for a safer route. The official guide lists four opportunities to poison or swap: during a kiss, while he looks out of the window after the moon topic, while feeding him fish, and after the Scholar's-passion hobby exchange when his gaze shifts. Feeding him duck jumps directly toward an ending; save first.

Hidden lines worth a second run

A high-affection kiss as the third topic followed by politics as the fourth reveals alternate dialogue. Earlier deaths from poisoned food can change the next run's food lines. Endings 1 and 5 each have two affection-dependent final-line variants; ending 4 can acknowledge earlier poisoned-food deaths or successful tampering. Other lines appear after at least one death. These are variations within the six documented endings, not additional confirmed endings.

Version scope and what remains untested

The official walkthrough was posted on July 22, 2025 alongside the 1.02 downloads. The current game page lists enhanced build 1.1.2, with French and Spanish added in August 2026. An expanded script with new endings has been announced but is not part of the six-ending scope here. The internal affection threshold and exact current-build compatibility have not been verified through gameplay.

Conclusion

Secure the first two toasts, then decide whether to earn his affection, turn his own poison against him or fall into the food trap. Revisit the same ending after a death: the game remembers more than its ending count suggests.
