Imagine trying to cross a street while the people stopping you sing happily about stopping you. That's the entire delight of “We're All Just Blocking the Street”: the traffic jam is performing its own theme song.

The moment comes from Family Guy's April 30, 2017 episode “The Peter Principal” (season 15, episode 18). Brian is rushing to deliver a pizza when a New Orleans parade band takes over the road. Brian grows frustrated, while the musicians seem thrilled to be exactly where he needs to go.

The clip was reposted on TikTok in July 2026 and became a go-to soundtrack for blocked paths that September. One Instagram joke showed a packed school hallway with just 59 seconds left to reach class. Another TikTok used it to capture the sidewalk chaos of a tourist town. Someone even paired the sound with an actual marching band.

It turns an ordinary inconvenience into a celebration organized by the people causing it. The soundtrack is excellent. The shortcut, sadly, is still closed.
