title: AI Cat Stealing Tiramisu: The Fridge POV Meme's Origin and Meaning
description: The October 2026 fridge-camera tiramisu meme, its human original, AI cat and dog remakes, real posts and the difference between a trend and a template.

The cat or dog scooping tiramisu from a refrigerator is part of the October 2026 Fridge POV meme. The joke began with a human sneaking dessert from a fridge; AI remakes later cast pets as the repeat offender. The camera is positioned inside the refrigerator, so the audience gets the one witness the thief forgot about.

What happens in the clip?

A door opens onto a tray of tiramisu. Someone takes a spoonful, retreats and shuts the door. Then the door opens again. Instead of showing restraint, the visitor returns to finish the tray. The second visit is the payoff: a tiny snack has become a full-scale dessert disappearance.

POV means point of view. “Fridge POV,” “fridge cam” and “tiramisu fridge meme” describe the viewpoint or the broader joke. “Pet Fridge Cake Heist” is also used as a name for a pet-focused AI video template, rather than the universal title of every clip.

The dated trail: from people to pets

The fridge-camera gag predates this trend. MakeViral points to a May 21, 2024 “POV: You have siblings” clip and a June 2026 cheesecake-thief video as earlier examples. The specific tiramisu wave is traced to an Instagram reel posted by @jeanluis_blanco on October 16, 2026, captioned in Spanish “Quienes se identifican?”—roughly, “Who can relate?”

According to MakeViral's October 19 snapshot, that reel had roughly 2.7 million likes. On October 17, TikTok account @florinsbn5 posted a cat remake, reportedly reaching about 1 million views and 40,700 shares by October 19. A chihuahua version followed on October 18, and pet-photo video templates were being offered by October 21. Those are dated third-party observations, not independently verified live counters. A commercial trend site estimated a much larger combined audience, but its extrapolation should not be confused with measured reach.

The Spanish caption on the original and the reported Romanian caption on the cat version show more than one language in the trail. They do not establish which countries watched the most.

Is the animal actually eating cake?

The pet examples documented here are AI-generated scenes. A paw operating a spoon and the repeat entrance are part of the edit. Check the platform's AI label and the creator's description before treating a clip as candid footage. Paw continuity, utensils and changing markings may provide clues, but visual glitches alone are not a reliable verdict.

Please do not stage the joke with real tiramisu and a pet. The ASPCA warns that cocoa, chocolate, coffee and caffeine can harm animals. The comedy works perfectly well with pixels.

How people use it

Captions such as “Just one bite,” “That was for the guests” or “The fridge saw everything” fit the format. The key is to preserve the door-closing pause before the culprit returns. If you make a pet remake from a photo, label it as AI and use an animal image you have permission to use.

Conclusion

The real star is the fridge: it silently records a dessert crime with absolutely no interest in accepting excuses. AI made the culprit cuter, not the alibi stronger.
