Description: The June 2026 AI kitten dance, its Dark Triad joke, international recreations and the difference from La Calabaza.

Three Kittens Dancing is a viral video of three AI-generated kittens moving in perfect sync. @meowtakeover posted it on TikTok on June 28, 2026. The name “Dark Triad” came later, when another creator labeled the cats with three psychological traits. [1]

Where did the dance come from?

The cats stand on their hind legs and perform a coordinated routine. Know Your Meme's July 20 record lists over 79.5 million views and 7.9 million likes on the original in roughly three weeks. The soundtrack was identified as GFY1994's “Spencer Hill Cool.” The movements resemble choreography associated with KATSEYE, but a direct source for the steps has not been established. [1]

What does Dark Triad mean?

On June 30, @rioxrecords assigned the kittens narcissism, Machiavellianism and psychopathy in an edit. That version had about 2.8 million views and 403,000 likes within three weeks, according to the dated record. [1] Adorable cats are introduced like dangerous villains. It is a joke about labels, not a psychological assessment.

How did people remake it?

Green-screen and CapCut templates made the trio reusable. A human recreation appeared July 9, a Minecraft version July 10 and a Russian-language trio recreation July 11. The July snapshot listed roughly 2.2 million views for Minecraft and 6.9 million for the latter. [1] Chinese-language Minecraft captions and Russian-language recreations show cross-language use, not a measured ranking of countries.

Is it La Calabaza?

No, but both clips came from @meowtakeover. The June original uses a different track. The August 27 La Calabaza video features a cowboy hat and round glasses, set to Pumpky's “LA CALABAZA (TINIEBLA Edit).” [2]

Conclusion

The internet watched three kittens dance and decided they needed villain biographies. The choreography stayed cute; the job titles became terrifying.
