An ordinary picture can become a miniature comedy show. PIGPON is a free browser game for people aged 18 and over. Players add funny captions of up to 30 characters to pictures and tap “Laughed” to judge them. No account or app download is required.

Rather than uploading jokes to chase likes, you create a whole round together: picture, punchline, judges and the big reveal.

01. More than another photo comment section

One player contributes a picture. The others try to transform it with a short line. Everyone then reads the entries, marks what made them laugh, and sees the scores and authors revealed at the end. It is a little comedy contest with a beginning and an ending, not an endless feed.

Imaginary comments: Photo: “Just an ordinary hamster.”
Friend: “Saving two months of rent in his cheeks.”
Hamster: “Please stop exposing my finances.” 🐹

These lines are fictional examples, not real player messages. Sometimes the quietest friend turns out to have the wildest imagination.

02. Start by sharing one invitation link

Choose Play with friends, name your group and pick a nickname. Send the invitation through LINE, Discord or the group chat you already use. Friends join by opening the link. On the first visit, they confirm they are adults and accept the terms.

It works in a web browser; installing an app is optional. You can add it to a phone's home screen if you want quick access. The easiest first game is with the people you already talk to, not a roomful of strangers you must recruit.

03. One picture, then a 30-character punchline

Each player contributes one picture from a device or uses a free photo supplied by PIGPON. Normally you can ask for a different picture up to three times. You do not have to expose a private photo.

Next, write on other players' pictures, usually up to three depending on group size. You cannot write on your own picture. Each caption is limited to 30 characters, so the trick is to find one unexpected idea rather than a long explanation.

A sleepy red panda? “Manager still trapped in Monday's meeting.” One small line creates an entirely different story.

04. The exact scoring rule: two thirds laughed

A caption earns PIGPON only when at least two people judged it and at least two-thirds of those judges tapped “Laughed.” If there are three or more judges and every one of them laughs, it becomes a special rainbow PIGPON. The caption writer does not judge their own line.

With three judges, one laugh is not enough, two laughs earn PIGPON, and three earn rainbow. This is not a single-vote popularity contest. Several captions can qualify in one round. The day's win depends on how many PIGPONs each person earned; a tie can mean joint winners. There is no public last-place parade.

Imaginary announcer: “Two laughs! PIGPON!”
“Three! Rainbow!” 🌈
“A fourth judge joins!”
“There were only three judges. Who is that?”

05. Daily surprise or a quick Play now round

The daily drop begins at some point within the time window your group chose. The suggested default is 7–10 p.m.; after it begins, people have six hours to submit pictures and captions. You can participate on your own schedule instead of holding a meeting just to be funny.

Play now starts a short round when at least two friends are currently present. Picture, caption, judging and reveal take a few minutes. It fits a call, a gathering or a break between other games.

Imaginary group chat: “Busy?” “Kind of.” “One round?” “Suddenly available.”
Five minutes later: “Who taught the hamster about rent?”

06. CPU practice and rooms with strangers

Practice with CPU lets you play a full round with three computer-controlled players. They also contribute pictures, write captions and judge. Use your own photo or a supplied one. Practice rooms are private and designed to disappear after 24 hours. You can learn the flow before playing with real friends.

Free match is the public-room idea for playing with strangers using provided pictures, room-only random nicknames and no open chat. The goal is to discover ideas your friends would never think of.

As of October 8, 2026, public rooms for general users were still being prepared or gradually opened. If the game shows them as taking a break, they are not available to everyone. A working test room does not prove a public launch.

07. Four reasons it can be surprisingly funny

Surprise: one caption changes what a picture seems to say. Everyone matters: you can write or just judge and laugh, and other people cannot see your individual votes. Good jokes do not cancel each other out: several lines can win, with tied champions possible. You can keep the memory: results can become images to save and share.

Photo-containing result cards require the photo owner's permission. Yesterday's random animal can become today's running joke in the group.

Imaginary reaction: “The quietest person wrote the funniest one.”
“Apparently this is what they were saving their words for.”

08. Photos, privacy and the right not to share

PIGPON is intended for adults aged 18 and over. Uploaded pictures are designed to be deleted three days after results are finalized. Photo candidates are handled on your device, and only the selected picture is sent. You can use supplied photos, request another, exclude a picture from future suggestions or take a submitted picture down.

Your “Laughed” choices are not publicly attributed. However, a saved result card or screenshot on somebody else's device cannot magically be taken back. Avoid sharing faces, addresses, documents and other people's private details without permission.

09. First-round questions: two players, price and timing

Do I need to be funny? No. Try CPU practice or start by judging other people's lines.

Must everyone be online together? Not for the daily drop, which allows six hours. Play now is for friends present at the same time.

Can two people play? A quick round can begin, but a caption judged by only one other person cannot meet the minimum of two judges. Three or more are better when competing for PIGPONs.

Is it free? Core play is free in your browser. Additional paid features are planned, not described here as currently on sale.

10. The point: make a little comedy show together

PIGPON is not an infinite stream of strangers' jokes. You and your friends create a tiny show from a picture, a punchline, some honest laughs and the reveal. Nobody needs to be a professional comedian. One unexpected sentence may be enough.

Imaginary ending: “That's just a hamster.”
“Not anymore. He's our landlord.”
Hamster: “I don't own property.”

Check the game itself for the current availability of public rooms and extra features.
