“Hope whoever stole my Amazon package was also planning to be Erling Haaland for Halloween.” That is the setup of an X meme from October 2026. A supposed stolen parcel comes with a shopping-list screenshot for a strangely specific costume. The imaginary thief has inherited not just the goods but an unwanted role. Know Your Meme highlighted the format in its October 23 weekly roundup.

The original casting decision

On October 11, @lyssibot5000 posted what looked like an Amazon order history for an Erling Haaland costume. Instead of simply demanding the package back, the post hoped the person who took it shared the exact same Halloween plans. The politeness makes the joke work: it is an involuntary audition disguised as a delivery complaint.

Four documented costume assignments

The first role was Haaland. On October 14, @chaeryliv used a look inspired by the cover of Olivia Rodrigo's You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love. The same day, @0NEMORETlME picked the image of a woman wearing a beak-shaped plague-doctor mask, captioned “why.” Now the costume is an internet question rather than a celebrity.

On October 15, @SpaghettiSpace_ escalated to the triple stack of boxes at Ascent B Site in VALORANT. The fictional thief has gone from professional footballer to inanimate map cover. Know Your Meme documents these public posts and their dates. Screenshots resembling orders do not establish that any theft actually occurred.

The joke, and the distinction

The verified online responses are these parody posts, not comments I could independently retrieve from their reply threads. A missing-package story normally asks where the item went. This version asks which character the person taking it must portray. The narrower the shopping list, the more absurd the imaginary contract.

Original editorial sketch, not a real online comment: Casting director: “Which role would you like?” Person with package: “Can I choose?” Director: “Your order says triple boxes at Ascent B Site.” Person: “Could I be Haaland?” Director: “Different shipment.”

Conclusion

An ordinary shopping cart has become the Halloween casting director. The delivery notification is apparently enough to assign a role before anyone even arrives at the party.
