Description: Shisa cuts up his magical drinking license. Could the three stars retaliate, or could the real horror be an impossible replacement?
Spoilers: Through the October 13, 2026 Chiikawa comic. Revenge and license-replacement trouble are theories, not confirmed events.
The scissors worked. Or did they?
Shisa has been studying for a drinking qualification while working at a ramen shop. When he rescued three stars tangled in vines, they thanked him with the very license he hoped to earn. An amazingly generous gift—and a shortcut that robbed him of the satisfaction of passing the exam himself.
On October 13, Shisa finally takes scissors to the license and declares it invalid. The cut document turns into sparkling light and flies skyward. It's a wonderfully direct response to magical paperwork. But what if the stars resent having their gift destroyed? And what if cutting up the card doesn't erase the license recorded in Shisa's name?
Do the three stars have a history of revenge?
When Shisa previously tried to refuse their gift, the stars appeared surprised and left abruptly. Their reaction could be read as annoyance, though facial expressions aren't proof of a coming attack.
Their earlier record is much kinder. In the Three-Star Restaurant story, Chiikawa and Hachiware freed them, and the stars produced enormous omelet rice to say thanks. That shows gratitude. The notorious Black Shooting Star, whose wish-granting caused an unsettling time loop, is another being. Its story makes magical favors suspicious; it doesn't establish a revenge habit for these three stars.
The cruelest ending involves a licensing desk
Imagine Shisa returning to his books, studying hard and passing the real examination. He arrives to collect his license, only to hear: “You've already been issued one.” The old card was cut to pieces and vanished in a shower of light. Then comes the ultimate bureaucratic nightmare: “Sorry, we can't issue a replacement.”
This is a deliberately absurd fan theory, not a confirmed rule of Chiikawa's world. We haven't seen the details of its licensing database, cancellation procedure or duplicate issuance. Still, the gift was previously treated as a genuine license. Destroying a physical document and cancelling the status it represents need not be the same thing. Suddenly a records office sounds scarier than three magical stars.
What happens next?
The glitter could mean the magic was returned successfully. The card might be gone while the qualification persists. Or the stars could return to ask why their kindness was rejected. As of the October 13 comic, there has been no on-page retaliation.
What matters is that Shisa chose to earn the result himself. Surely that deserves a fair exam—not cosmic punishment, and definitely not an “already issued” error message.
