What Steam Early Access owners keep when version 1.0 arrives, and which bonus deadline applies after the delay.

Already own No Rest for the Wicked on Steam? You won't need to repurchase the base game for version 1.0. Steam Early Access sells a playable, developing product; that same product transitions to full release. Founder's Pack rewards are a separate, time-limited offer.[1][3]

Why were players worried about paying twice?

On June 4, 2026, a player asked on the official forum whether they would need to buy the game again to play 1.0. The promotion's cutoff had even made them wonder whether purchasing the soundtrack was necessary. After another player explained the offer, the poster said the announcement had sounded like a demand for another purchase.[2]

The distinction matters: owning the game and qualifying for promotional rewards aren't the same thing. A bonus deadline doesn't erase a game from your Steam library.

What changed with the March 2027 delay?

Moon Studios announced on September 1 that the 1.0 release was moving from October 2026 to March 2027, allowing more time for performance improvements, the class system and polish. An open beta is planned for December 2026.[1]

The newer announcement promises Founder's Pack rewards to everyone who buys on Steam before January 1, 2027. Don't rely on the older cutoff discussed in June when checking eligibility.[1][2]

Does buying on Steam include PlayStation?

PlayStation preorders are expected to open in January 2027, with their own opportunity for Founder's rewards. That is not a promise of a free PlayStation copy with a Steam purchase. Check each platform's store offer.[1]

Bottom line

If the game is already in your Steam library, follow the March launch and reward updates. The combat may demand repeated attempts; the checkout shouldn't.
