What Papergames decided on June 30, why fans still want Valko, and what happens to the five existing romances.

As of October 16, 2026, Valko has no announced return to Love and Deepspace. Papergames canceled his planned introduction and future related development on June 30. It also said that no additional love interests would be introduced.[1]

Was Valko delayed or removed?

The werewolf-themed executive was revealed on June 22 and was due to arrive with Version 6.0 on July 9. Criticism of story elements and promotional material followed. The developer apologized for revealing him before preparations were complete and withdrew the character's planned release and content.[1][3] That is different from postponing a launch until a new date.

What about the existing five characters?

The game continues. Papergames said it would focus on stories and long-term companionship with Xavier, Zayne, Rafayel, Sylus and Caleb. Other Version 6.0 features, including Home-related content and augmented-reality photography, were to proceed. Some event rewards were redirected to in-game mail.[1] Those commitments do not establish release dates for each new story.

Why are fans still campaigning?

At July's Anime Expo, supporters brought signs, handmade items and a tribute calling for Valko's return. The tribute's presentation itself divided attendees.[2] Some players objected to the original marketing; others regretted losing a character before experiencing his story.[3] These are different reactions, not a single community verdict.

What would change the answer?

A fresh developer announcement reversing the June decision. Petitions and fan art demonstrate interest, not a confirmed update. The missing wolf has a search party, but the studio still holds the key to Linkon City.
