Spoiler warning: This article discusses combat systems and abilities from Demon Slayer, Attack on Titan, My Hero Academia, ONE PIECE, and other series. Cross-series matchups are speculation, not official canon.
1. The key point: Yoriichi is not the king of raw destructive power; he is close to a finished form of physical combat
When moving Yoriichi Tsugikuni into another fictional universe, comparing only how many buildings or mountains a character can destroy misses what makes him absurd.
His advantage is the package: the Transparent World, extreme perception and reaction, exceptional body control, extremely efficient swordsmanship, instant weak-point analysis, Sun Breathing, and a red blade that is particularly effective against demons.
Volume 21 of Demon Slayer, especially Chapter 187, contains the decisive flashback involving Yoriichi and Muzan.[1] A detailed secondary recap notes how Yoriichi saw Muzan's multiple hearts and brains and cut down most of the fragments when Muzan split his body to escape.[2]
The official description of the Yoriichi Type Zero training doll adds another ridiculous detail: the machine needed six arms to reproduce the movements of the real swordsman it was modeled after.[3]
In other words, ordinary human animation hardware did not have enough arms.
So calling Yoriichi “the strongest physical character” is slightly misleading. A better description is:
He is grotesquely optimized for killing targets that can be killed through physical combat.
2. Cross-universe debates need two different rule sets
A. Drop canon Yoriichi into the new world unchanged
He keeps his body, sword, and breathing techniques, but receives none of the destination world's energy systems.
Under this rule, cursed energy, Nen, spiritual pressure, or Haki can become hard barriers. In some universes the question is not “Can he win?” but “Can his attack even interact with the target under local rules?”
B. Let Yoriichi grow as a native of that universe
Now he may learn Haki, Nen, cursed energy, or whatever that setting permits.
This version is much scarier. You are giving a new combat system to someone whose original setting already portrays him as an abnormal observer, learner, and body controller.
Transfer-student Yoriichi and native-born Yoriichi are different bosses.
3. A rough compatibility chart

Yoriichi is not a universal “I cut the setting” cheat code.
The more a world satisfies three conditions—the sword can reach, the sword can cut, and death is physically achievable—the more dangerous he becomes.
4. In Attack on Titan, ODM gear might become a convenience rather than life support
The official Attack on Titan glossary says ordinary Titans are generally 3–15 meters tall, ODM gear is designed for high-speed three-dimensional mobility, and ultrahard steel can cut Titan flesh.[4]
For a normal soldier, reaching the nape is the entire problem.
For Yoriichi, the biggest early problem may simply be learning which lever does what.
There is no canon ability saying he can look at unfamiliar machinery and instantly understand every control. “Perfect on the first second” would be fan exaggeration.
But once the controls are explained, aerial balance, weight shifting, landing, and trajectory correction sound suspiciously close to his specialty.
And in a city or forest, even no gear becomes funny.
He cannot literally fly. An empty plain against a 50-meter-plus target remains a real problem. But if buildings, trees, walls, or even the Titan's own limbs can be used as footholds, a different solution appears:
ankle → knee → thigh → waist → torso → shoulder → nape.

Not one impossible 15-meter-wide slice, but successive cuts while climbing the enemy's own body.
Imaginary scene:
Levi: “First take out the leg and break its posture—”
Yoriichi: “Understood.”
leg → knee → waist → chest → nape
Levi: “That is not what I meant.”
The Armored Titan is explicitly described as having a surface hard enough to deflect soldiers' blades, while the Colossal Titan creates a different problem through size and heat.[4] Yoriichi does not get to ignore those mechanics merely because he is Yoriichi.
5. All Might exposes the difference between raw output and killing efficiency
One For All stores power across generations and allows its users to produce tremendous power and speed.[5] At USJ, All Might fought a Nomu equipped with Shock Absorption and Super Regeneration.[6]
Raw strength, durability, and area-scale force therefore favor All Might by a large margin.
Punching contest: All Might.
A lethal duel is more complicated.
All Might solves defense with overwhelming force. Yoriichi tries to find the smallest opening that makes the opponent stop functioning.
With the Transparent World in the equation, the imagined process becomes: read muscle contraction, weight shift, breathing and internal motion; move only as much as necessary; attack a decisive point.
So the matchup separates neatly:
- Output, durability, shockwave-like pressure: All Might advantage
- Sword skill, weak-point targeting, body control, precision evasion: Yoriichi advantage
With strict canon stats, prime All Might is the safer overall pick. But if speed is equalized and Yoriichi's blade is allowed to penetrate All Might's body, Yoriichi's win conditions multiply rapidly.
Yoriichi is not the man who punches down a mountain.
He is the man who searches for a way to cut the mountain-puncher's neck before the punch begins.
6. ONE PIECE is unusually friendly to Yoriichi's talent profile
ONE PIECE already has a route to the top that is not simply “eat the strongest Devil Fruit.”
Mihawk's official profile calls him the world's strongest swordsman and identifies his black blade Yoru.[7]
That matters because it proves swordsmanship itself can sit at the top of the world's combat hierarchy.
Observation Haki looks like the best fit
Rayleigh's official profile says he taught and trained Luffy in Haki over two years.[8] Coby's profile says he awakened Observation Haki.[9]
So there is no basis for claiming Yoriichi would watch Haki once and instantly master it.
But the idea that he would learn it unusually quickly is a reasonable crossover hypothesis. His existing fighting style already revolves around perceiving internal movement and extracting action cues.
Observation Haki plus Transparent World would be deeply annoying:
read the coming action + read the physical motion that is beginning to create that action.
Double surveillance.
Armament Haki connects his sword skill to the New World
If he can learn Armament, his already absurd cutting precision gains a local system for offense and defense against high-level opponents.
Conqueror's Haki is an author decision
Luffy's official profile describes Conqueror's Haki as a power available only to selected individuals.[10]
Therefore “strong will = guaranteed Conqueror's” is not valid.
A reasonable split is:
- Observation: looks highly compatible
- Armament: looks highly compatible
- Conqueror's: unknown innate qualification
If a crossover author gives him all three, though, the build becomes silly: Sun Breathing + Transparent World + Armament + advanced Observation + Conqueror's.
That is less “swordsman without a Devil Fruit” and more “secret boss who purchased every combat-system DLC.”
7. Being transported into ONE PIECE and being born there are completely different scenarios
Canon Yoriichi dropped directly into the New World would still face major gaps in durability, attack scale, and Haki.
But Yoriichi born and raised under ONE PIECE physics is another story. He gets that world's physical ceiling, years of sword training, Haki development, and battles against opponents who can push him further.
Under that rule, imagining him eventually sitting at the same general table as Mihawk, Shanks, or Roger becomes far more plausible as a fan scenario.
Imaginary scene:
Teacher: “This is Observation Haki.”
Yoriichi: “So you sense presence and intent.”
Teacher: “Yes. Normally this takes a long—”
Yoriichi: “A bird is approaching from the rear right.”
Teacher: “Stop leveling during the tutorial.”
Not canon. Extremely on-brand.
8. Yoriichi's real nightmare is not stronger physics; it is a victory condition that is no longer physical
The nastiest opponents for him are not necessarily the ones with the biggest punch.
They are characters who manipulate space, time, causality, souls, domains, forced rules, nonphysical bodies, or systems in which damage only registers through a setting-specific energy.
At that point the problem is not insufficient swordsmanship. The sport itself changed.
The fastest sprinter in the world does not become a chess grandmaster because his legs are faster.
That is why upper-tier Jujutsu Kaisen and BLEACH matchups become much less favorable than a simple “Yoriichi swings first” argument suggests.
9. Final answer: Yoriichi is not a world-destroyer; he is the character who hunts world-class fighters that are still physically killable
There are countless fictional characters above him in destructive scale. Some destroy planets, erase space, rewrite futures, or make attacks fail through rules rather than durability.
That is not Yoriichi's game.
But if the opponent has a body, can be cut, has a vulnerable structure, and produces readable motion before attacking, Yoriichi becomes horrifyingly efficient.
In Attack on Titan, ODM gear may downgrade from “the only way a human reaches the nape” to “a handy device for getting to the next Titan faster.”
In My Hero Academia, he cannot match All Might's raw output, but he brings a completely different answer: do not trade punches; attack the critical point.
In ONE PIECE, allowing him to learn Haki connects his greatest natural talents to a world where a swordsman can already stand among the elite.
And against Titans, the joke remains perfect:
Scouts: fly to the nape.
Yoriichi: start at the feet and process everything in order.
Not Titan slaying.
