Description: Lords of the Fallen II has moved from fall 2026 to early 2027. CI Games cites development polish and a crowded holiday market, while players remember the 2023 launch.

Lords of the Fallen II is now targeting January–March 2027. CI Games has given two reasons: extra time to refine the game and a release window away from the competitive holiday season. Neither is a promise of flawless performance on every platform. As of October 20, 2026, the crucial question is what evidence of stability emerges before launch.[1][2]

Why did CI Games move the date?

In its June 23 corporate disclosure, CI Games changed the planned fall 2026 release to the first quarter of 2027. The team had identified opportunities to improve the experience, requiring further integration, iteration and polishing. The company also said that avoiding the crowded holiday period would give the game a better commercial opportunity.[1]

Reports often connect the timing to GTA VI. That is an interpretation of the market, not a game named in the official statement. Similarly, a request for polishing time is not proof of a development crisis. The announcement confirms a three-month window, not an exact release date.[1][2]

Why are fans thinking about 2023?

A June 30 Reddit discussion includes a player hoping the sequel will avoid a repeat of the 2023 release, specifically wishing for broad testing across different hardware. Others describe performance concerns based on their own experiences with the earlier game.[3]

There are also players pleased to have more time for other games, and others disappointed to wait. These are individual comments, not a representative fan survey. They point to a useful distinction: repairing a game months later is different from delivering a comfortable first evening with it.[3]

What would actually reassure buyers?

The company has promised more development time, but has not announced an open beta or released platform-specific performance measurements. Extended gameplay footage, transparent PC and console performance details, and information about testing would offer stronger evidence. Those are signs to watch for, not events already scheduled.

A trailer can show one perfect sword strike. Stability is revealed when someone spends hours exploring, loading areas, dodging and retrying bosses. The extra months need to improve that longer experience.

Verdict

Q1 2027 is the official target; launch performance remains to be demonstrated.[1][2] Players' concerns have a concrete history in the previous release.[3] The boss can be difficult. The game itself should not become the bonus boss.
